20 Things that make me HAPPY

Happiness ..

Don’t you reckon that is such a loaded word. 

What does it really mean to be truly happy? Do we all have different ideas of happiness or is it the same feeling for everyone? 

I don’t have all the answers, but one thing I know for sure is that most of us strive to be happy in life. I mean is that not the dream goal! 

Your happiness and your health? 

I feel like it is anyway. I may not be an expert but I do know what makes me happy! 

The thing is though I neglect to do these everyday ... umm dah ... If you do the things that make you happy on a regular basis you will be happy right!! 

I have been set a challenge for the next we while. I had to write down 20 things that make me happy earlier this week (that 20 turned into 23 because I couldn’t cull to 20). I have to do all 20 things every week. I might do one, one day, five the next. But however I choose to do it, come Sunday night the  23 things need to be done! So, hello happy chappy Charlie! 

So here’s my challenge for you! Right now, stop what you are doing! Get a pen and paper and write down 20 things that make you happy and do them every week for the next month with me! Go on, do it, you know you want to! 

Self love and looking after ourselves and our own happiness is something we often neglect, I know I do! This should really be our top priority, don’t you think? 

Going away to Fiji, getting off social media, really relaxing, resting and recharging really made me reflect on what I was expecting myself and my body to do the last few months. Life is so stressful, we must look after ourselves and fill up our ‘love cups’ like my Mum likes to say, or our ‘self-lovametres’. 

Life is made for living and for being happy! 

Here’s 20 things that make me happy - my list is longer than this, but here’s 20 -  I hope it inspires you to write your own list 


  1. Moving my body

  2. Laughter and smiles

  3. Face + hair masks - pamper arvos!

  4. Surrounding myself and hanging out with people that make me happy and make me feel good about myself

  5. Taking a bath

  6. Spending time or face timing family

  7. Being organised and everything being clean and tidy

  8. Playing loud music and dance like no-one is watching

  9. Waking up with the sun and sunsets

  10. Being in bed early and reading with candles burning

  11. Working on the Wholeness Hub and food gram

  12. In a good routine, and being productive

  13. Eating nourishing and real food

  14. Adventuring to new places (HOLIDAYS!!)

  15. Cooking and creating and trying new recipes

  16. Helping and serving people

  17. Living in the moment

  18. Switching off from social media

  19. Having a good nights sleep and feeling refreshed

  20. Spontaneous dates with friends or my boyfriend

And like Ralph Marston said: “ Happiness is a choice, not a result. Nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy. No person will make you happy unless you decide to be happy. Your happiness will not come to you. It can only come from you”
