This isn't just a pickleball tournament. It's a day to remember how incredible it feels to move. To be grateful for legs that carry you, jump for you, chase a ball across a court for you.
A reminder that whatever you set your mind to, you can achieve.
Enjoy Your Legs exists to create purposeful products and meaningful events that build awareness around spinal cord injury and raise the funds needed for ongoing recovery. All PROFITS go towards Johnny’s rehabilitation.
[With no access to funding, this is life-changing support. For a SCI of Johnnys level, the estimated investment including medical supplies, rehab, equipment, home and community support, housing - for the first year is half a million dollars, and the years following upwards of $150K]
This tournament is that mission in action, supporting Johnny's journey back to his feet, and back to enjoying his legs.
Since his accident in June 2024, Johnny has found his way back onto the pickleball court, this tournament is a celebration of that. [If you're also a wheelchair user, this is your invitation to come and trial pickleball for the first time, no experience needed]
Whether you're chasing competitive points or just here for a fun day out with friends, there's a place for you on the court.

Join us on SUNDAY 2ND AUGUST for a FUNDRAISING PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT to support Johnny to get back to his feet and enjoying his legs.
TIME: 9-2pm
LOCATION: Voyager Tennis Courts Tweed Heads, NSW
Accessible venue and tournament
ENTRY: Investment $75 per player [we suggest you enter in pairs, or we can put you in a pair with another single entry] Your entry includes a competition t-shirt and the ability to play in either the social round or competitive tournament, with a little donation to Johnny’s rehab.
FORM: Please fill out the form on purchasing your entry to the tournament. This allows us to pair you with your partner, be aware of your mobility so you have the best time possible.

There are two options for the tournament - competitive courts [there will be a final and a winner], or fun and community courts, we have a coach that will run you through basic pickleball rules here and an opportunity to have a hit. Please specify which courts you’d like to play on to support us creating the draw for the day

The ability to invest in ongoing physical weekly Rehab at Making Strides, Native State, Neu Horizon and emotional and mental health appointments
Monthly medical supplies and adaptive equipment
Guided adaptive surf trainings and competitions

The black-and-white design pays homage to our New Zealand roots, inspired by Johnny’s surf flag with a silver fern. Coincidentally, the silver fern serves as a powerful spiritual guide for finding one’s way through the darkness particularly when moonlight catches it’s silver underside.
